What is a Black Diamond?
Black diamonds are known for their beauty, strength, rarity, and value. There are many imitations but the most precious are the stunning gems that naturally develop under pressure. Every month QueenGPoetry.com will feature a Black Woman Creative, or Black Diamond and highlight how her passion, pursuit, and unbreakable beauty changes the world. Who are you and what do you do?
I am a blogger and an aspiring writer. My blog is called Beautifies The Meek and it is my baby! The purpose of Beatifies The Meek is to encourage and inspire women all around the world to live fully for Christ. To provide modest style tips and ideas for the everyday woman. Beautifies The Meek is all about celebrating the place a woman has in this world, in the church, and most importantly in Christ. This blog is beyond denomination and my prayer is to reach every woman from all walks of life with the love and gospel of Jesus Christ
In one sentence or less, what sharpens you?
My circle of friends sharpen me. They challenge me to push myself and always aim higher.
How does your identity/the intersections of your identity influence your work?
My identity greatly influences my work in many ways. I feel like my faith is a major part of my identity and it is the main reason why I do what I do. My identity is completely wrapped in Jesus and so is my purpose. I feel like this blog is a small part of my purpose and it is a great way for me to create content that aligns with my purpose and who I am.
What drives you? Why do you do what you do?
Purpose is what drives me to do what I do. Knowing more and understanding why I was put on the Earth helps me to stay focused. I also really enjoy blogging about style and everyday things that interest me. I think loving what I do is also a great motivator.
Any additional information you would like to share
Thinking back to when I was younger I wish I had someone to tell me that I was enough. That my beauty was enough. That I had something of value to offer. Someone to invest in me and pour into me. Because I went through what I went through I really want to be that someone for a teenager out there or a woman out there that may be struggling to see the value they hold. I do what I do to be that someone for somebody.
