Who is This Queen?
Dedicated to her craft, Queen G is a multi-faceted writer and performer. Utilizing her strong background in the arts, she has spent years performing all over the United States and abroad, engaging diverse audiences on a variety of platforms.
She is the winner of the 7 Hills Invitational Slam, and represented 7 Hills at the 2016 National Poetry Slam in Decatur, GA and at the 2017 and 2018 Women of the World Poetry Slams in Dallas, TX (respectively). She was a featured artist at the Poets In Autumn 2017 tour as well as a PVD fest and Bandaloop featured poet. Her work investigates identity, challenges oppression, & re-imagines community, culture, & faith as it reinforces her belief in the power of storytelling. She uses her affinity for words on and off the stage, lending her vocals to Blue Seat Studios as a voice actor (for clients such as Scholastic, Harvard, and Big Picture Learning).
She has constructed countless written pieces, ranging from poetry, songs, and other creative writings to articles, press releases, biographies, and more. Her professionalism and passion present her as a skilled writing consultant.
She has a strong background in community development and education. She has worked both domestically and internationally, with over 12 years experience in coordinating, workshop facilitation, public speaking and presentations.
She published The Whetting Stone, her debut chapbook and CD on December 17, 2016.
Her ultimate goal is to use her gifts to inspire, encourage, and empower.
